The concept behind this shoot was the idea of the quiet forest, with that little of creepiness you feel when you know that no one else is around you. Thanks to model Emi Guimond, and my awesome team: stylist Gina Chen, and photo assistant Jason Siegfried for helping me make this happen! The important part of this, on my end, is that this is the first all-film, no digital backup shoot.
The process is mostly the same as digital, but I only shot 24 frames (scary!) haha and light tested with polaroid film (well actually Fuji Instant 100-C). Shot on hasselblad and Portra film. I would say the scariest thing is probably missing focus, since it was sort of dim outside and 2.8 on the medium format is pretty thin. From there, after getting the film developed, I scanned it in and it was back to my normal workflow. From experience, color wet workflow just isn’t worth it; way too much trouble.
